Cat Northfield
Cat is a visual artist based in Mid-Wales, UK, local to Aberystwyth. In 2024 Cat won joint-third prize in the Gwenllian Ashley Art Prize with her artwork ‘Evolution Revolution’. She was nominated for an Excellence Award, and received Student of the Year Award at Coleg Ceredigion in 2024, where she completed the Foundation Art & Design Diploma, gaining a distinction. Her work has been exhibited at Aberystwyth School of Art, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, and Aberaeron’s Gallery Gwyn.
"I strive to engage the viewer with thought-provoking themes to connect with them on a deeper level. I am inspired by flights of fancy, transformation, contrast and tension. Charcoal, and oil paint are my preferred materials, but I enjoy experimenting with other mediums. I am currently focusing on portraiture and figures."
